Rumor: Samsung, LG to Build LCD Plant in China

International media have recently reported that the Chinese government has agreed to allow LG and Samsung to invest over USD 6 bln in constructing an LCD factory in China. An anonymous source associated with the project at LG indicated that the company had yet to receive formal notification. Samsung representatives also reported that no official word had arrived, but that they were expecting good news. The factory, when completed, will contain 7.5G and 8G LCD production lines.
