360Buy Launches Book Channel

Beijing-based IT products B2C e-commerce platform 360Buy has launched its new book channel, placing the link for the channel at the top of its navigation menu, above the site's traditional offerings of mobile digital products, computer products and office supplies.

Sources at 360Buy indicated that entry into the book market had been in the works for some time. 360Buy's book channel stocks 7 main book categories including arts, social sciences, management, test preparation, high-tech, lifestyle and children's books, and 39 sub-categories with over 100,000 titles in total.

Shi Tao, director of purchasing and sales for the book channel, pointed out that the new book product line will uphold the low-price philosophy of 360Buy.

In order to push sales, 360Buy has expanded the range of its pay-on-delivery services to include book purchases from over 500 cities in China, with more cities to be included soon. The site will also be expanding its book inventory with the goal of quickly reaching 250,000 titles.
