Baidu to Enter Asian Overseas Markets
Sina Tech, 10/20/10
Shen Haoyu, senior VP at Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), recently told Dow Jones that Baidu is cautiously exploring investment opportunities in new markets overseas. Shen said Baidu will begin in Asian markets because of cultural similarities.
Shen said that currently 95% of Baidu's search revenue comes from online search advertising, adding that search will remain Baidu's core business, and e-commerce platform YouA does not generate significant revenue.
