Cheng Uei to Build 3 Mainland Plants in Q4 2010

Taiwanese handset components manufacturer Cheng Uei Precision has announced it will accelerate plans to expand mainland production with three new plants in Q4 2010, following a jump in orders. Cheng Uei recently received orders from Apple, HTC and Nokia, according to Taiwanese media, for parts such as adapters, with orders from HTC totaling more than TWD 10 bln (RMB 2.15 bln). Cheng Uei currently operates two production facilities in mainland China, one in Dongguan and one in Suzhou, but has already decided to simultaneously construct plants in Chengdu, Wuhan and Zhengzhou in Q4 2010.
