TCL to Release Tablet PC

Wang Kailong, senior vice president of TCL Communication Technology (2618.HK), has revealed that company will be releasing a series of Android tablet PCs with 7" screens.

Wang explained that the new product series, to be released next month, is designed to meet the needs of a range of different users. For example, CDMA, GSM, and TD-SCDMA 3G models will all be available, as will a multi-touch screen model. Prices for the tablet PCs have not been set, though Wang indicated that the least expensive models will cost less than RMB 2,000, and the high-end models may reach RMB 3,000. He further expressed hopes that the company would be able to offer a RMB 1,000 model.
