Rumor: Alibaba Releases IME for Forums

According to an informed industry source, Hangzhou-based e-commerce company Alibaba Group is preparing to launch a Chinese input method for its forums. The new IME is reportedly already available for use in Alibaba's PHPWind BBS product.

The IME, which uses cloud and web technologies, is reportedly the result of a year of development by Alibaba's cloud technology team.

After a site administrator enables the IME for use in PHPWind, users will have the option of directly entering Pinyin text for conversion by the IME when writing forum posts or diary entries.
