Foxconn Raises Salaries at New Wuhan Plant

Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn (2038.HK; 2354.TW) has issued new regulations raising monthly wages for employees at its new Wuhan production facility by at least RMB 400. According to the announcement, the minimum working age has also been dropped from 18 to 16.5 years old, workers are guaranteed at least one day off each week and overtime is limited to 2.5 hours each day. Starting trial monthly salaries (including overtime and living stipend) will be between RMB 1,600 and RMB 2,200. Workers who successfully complete the trial period will receive monthly salaries between RMB 2,200 and RMB 2,800.
