Shanda Literature Q2 2010 Revenue Over RMB 100 Mln

During Chinese internet firm Shanda Interactive's (Nasdaq: SNDA) Q2 2010 earnings call, a senior executive said that the company's online literature subsidiary Shanda Literature had net revenues of more than RMB 100 mln in the second quarter of 2010.
Shanda Literature's business model covers a number of sales channels, including online and offline publishing, wireless sales, and licensing of literary property rights to film production companies, game developers, television stations, and animation studios.
Shanda Literature's online platform Cloudary (http://cloudary.sdo.com; also known as "Library in the Cloud") has the rights to some 3 mln literary works, with more than 60 bln characters' worth of content and more than 1,000 e-periodicals; the site's holdings are growing by as many as 100 mln words' worth of new content every day.
Shanda Literature CEO Hou Xiaoqiang did not discuss the specifics of the company's revenue breakdown; nor did he divulge profit figures for the quarter.
