Vodone H1 2010 Profit Reaches HKD 107 Mln

Chinese online video broadcasting and video advertising company VODone (0082.HK) has announced its unaudited consolidated interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2010, with revenue up 329.9% YoY to reach HKD 302.61 mln.
Income attributable to owners of the company was HKD 107.28 mln, compared to a net loss of HKD 11.27 mln in H1 2009.
Revenue from the tele-media business reached RMB 164.69 mln, up 134% YoY from RMB 70.38 mln in 2008. Revenue from VODone's new lottery-related business were RMB 85.54 mln. Revenues from VODone's new mobile gaming business were RMB 52.38 mln.
VODone Lottery View's mobile lottery application has been embedded in approximately 12 mln mobile handsets, with an annual target of 40 mln mobile handsets for 2010. As of June 30, the registered users of VODone Lottery View had exceeded 9 mln.
In H1 2010, VODone's mobile gaming subsidiary Dragon Joyce Group had mobile games installed on 14 mln handsets in the PRC market, with an annual target of 25 mln handsets. In the first half of 2010, average monthly subscribers amounted to 7.3 mln. Dragon Joyce plans to launch 3 major scrolling ARPG Android-based games in August 2010: War of Devils, Big Words of Western Tour and Qin. In September 2010, VODone will release its first major online mobile lottery game in China, Pilot Zillionaire. To tap into the mobile social gaming market, Dragon Joyce Group will introduce its first virtual modern life operating mobile social web game Sleepless City and plans to launch this social web game on VODone SNS community Linfo in December this year.
Further, VODone will launch a traditional Chinese character version of Linfo in the near future for users in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
