PC Consumer Complaints Up 52% YoY in China

According to figures from the China Consumers' Association (CCA), complaints about computers increased by 51.6% YoY in H1 of this year. Complaints related to advertisements increased by 5.7 times YoY.
In the category of product quality, consumers' main complaints were related to: display hotspots, the "blue screen of death," garbled displays, or broken displays; CPU power cut-outs and restarts; fan noise; faulty batteries either failing to charge properly or rapidly discharging electricity. In the category of after-sales service, consumers complained of slow response from after-sales service or slow repairs; refusal by customer service staff to give detailed records about the condition of computers sent in for repair or of repair progress; and the classification of existing problems as "new issues." Other complaints centered around the clear exaggeration of notebook computers' capabilities in sale promotion materials.
