MIIT: China's H1 2010 Software Industry Revenue Up 29% YoY

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released software industry statistics for H1 2010, with total software industry revenues reaching RMB 604.8 bln, up 29.1% YoY and growth up 6.4 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Total software industry revenues for June reached RMB 139.7 bln, up 36% compared to May and up 28.2% YoY.
In H1 2010, total software industry revenues in eastern China reached RMB 529.3 bln, up 29.7% YoY with growth up 7.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year, and accounting for 87.5% of total national software industry revenues. Total software industry revenues in western China reached RMB 47.8 bln, up 27.8% YoY with growth down 3.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Total software industry revenues for central China reached RMB 27.8 bln, up 22.5% YoY, with growth up 8.9 percentage points compared to H1 2009, but down 6.6 percentage points compared to the national average.
National software exports in H1 2010 reached USD 10.33 bln, up 22.7% YoY, with growth down 6.4 percentage points compared to the overall national average and down 24.7 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Exports of software outsourcing services reached USD 1.23 bln, up 38.8% YoY, with growth down 25.7 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
