Rumor: Microblog Site Dii Lands VC from Qihoo 360

Sootoo.com, 6/13/10

An industry source has revealed that Chinese microblogging site Dii.cn recently received venture capital from online security company Qihoo 360 - news that at one point appeared prominently on the Dii homepage. Spokespersons for Qihoo 360 and Dii did not deny the report, but declined to offer further details, and the prominent red link to the report from the Dii homepage has since been deleted.

The source said that the investment could be part of Qihoo 360's "Qifei" ("takeoff") incubation plan, but did not rule out the possibility that it had been a personal investment by Qihoo chairman Zhou Hongyi.
