Gome to Release Self-Branded Tablet

The Guangzhou branch of Chinese electronics retailer Gome (0493.HK) announced its new custom designed self-branded FlyTouch tablet PC today, priced at RMB 1,999, or RMB 999 for holders of Gome's free membership cards. A source with the company said that Gome headquarters would officially announce the tablet on June 17, and predicted that the tablet would go on sale nationwide on June 24.

The FlyTouch uses Google's Android operating system and features a 10.2" display, a 0.3 megapixel camera, and a VIA processor, as well as support for Wi-Fi wireless networking.
