DVBCN, 5/18/10
During the 6th Annual China Cultural Industries Fair that concluded yesterday in Shenzhen, Ouyang Changlin, director of Hunan-based broadcaster Golden Eagle Broadcasting System (GBS), signed a strategic partnership framework agreement with Pony Ma, chairman and CEO of Shenzhen-based internet company Tencent (0700.HK), under which the two companies will invest RMB 220 mln in a joint "cross-media" project, expanding the range of content products blending television and internet media, and constructing a cross-media broadcasting platform.
The framework agreement calls for the integration of GBS subsidiary Mango International Media's (MIM's) industry-leading services and Tencent's vast client resources. Tencent's online resources, including its interactive entertainment products, online services, and portal site, will integrate and interface with MIM's resources.
