The9 Details New Global Strategy

Chinese online game developer and operator The9 (Nasdaq: NCTY) has made an official detailed explanation of its new global strategy, based on which the company has begun to make adjustments to its internal division structure.
The new strategy is threefold: First, in the Chinese market, The9 will develop and operate its own games, as well as third-party games via licensing or other cooperation agreements. Second, The9 will conduct product R&D, operations, and sales in the global market. Third, The9 will focus on business development in new internet application fields.
In line with these adjustments to its strategy, The9 will transform its current organizational structure into three operational divisions.
The first is an online games division, which will be responsible for the research and development, operation, and commercial development of client-based online games. The division will be managed by The9 vice presidents Piao Shunyou and Oliver He.
The second is a new businesses division, which will be responsible for new internet applications-related business, to be managed by The9 vice presidents Jiang Huanxin and Shen Guoding.
The third is a North American investment business division, which will be responsible for worldwide investment-related operations, including Red 5 Studios, which The9 acquired for USD 20 mln in March of this year. The division will be managed by The9 vice president Huang Lingdong.
