MIIT: Jan-Feb Software Industry Revenue up 23% YoY

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released software industry statistics for January to February 2010, with total software industry revenues reaching RMB 159.5 bln, up 23.4% YoY with growth up 2.6 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Total profits were RMB 15.5 bln, up 10.9% YoY with growth down 6.8 percentage points compared to the same period in 2009.
Total software industry revenues in eastern China reached RMB 139.1 bln, up 23% YoY with growth up 2.5 percentage points compared to Jan-Feb 2009, and accounting for 87.2% of national software industry revenues. Total revenues in western China reached RMB 13.3 bln, up 26.5% YoY with growth up 0.8 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Revenues from central China were RMB 7.1 bln, up 26% YoY with growth up 7.7 percentage points compared to Jan-Feb 2009.
National software exports for the January-February period reached USD 2.64 bln, up 25.4% YoY with growth down 9.1 percentage points, but with revenue up 2.1 percentage points compared to the same period in 2009. Exports of software outsourcing services reached USD 450 mln, up 64% YoY.
