Beijing Post Office to Provide Bill Payment for CMMB
SARFT, 3/17/10
The Beijing branch of China Broadcasting Corporation, China's national operator of CMMB mobile TV, has begun strategic cooperation with the Beijing Post Office. First, the post office has selected handheld CMMB TVs as its foremost gift for the year's five major holidays (Christmas, New Year, Spring Festival, Valentine's Day, and the Lantern Festival). Second, CBC will take advantage of the Beijing Post Office's large client channels to boost terminal sales. Third, CBC will run advertisements for CMMB mobile TV throughout 1,000 displays in the Beijing Post Office's 18 districts and counties. Fourth, CBC will issue a joint credit card with the Postal Savings Bank to promote its image, services and products. Fifth, CBC will include promotional information about its services on postcards offered through the post office. Sixth, CBC will run a mail advertising campaign.
The first phase of cooperation will select 15 major post office service halls to offer large SD cards (required for CMMB conditional access) bundled with 6 months of Jingcai-branded CMMB service. In the second phase, the post office will take customer payments on behalf of CBC throughout all network-enabled locations in Beijing's 8 districts and neighboring suburbs and counties.
