China Unicom Relaunches App Store
Netease Tech, 3/12/10
China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) has relaunched its UniStore app store. The app store required debugging after it suffered multiple page load failures following its first launch in February. UniStore now offers mobile applications for comparatively more handset models than before from various brands, including Huawei, Coolpad, Nokia, Blackberry, Motorola, Samsung, Sony, HTC, Dopod, LG, Lenovo (0992.HK), TCL, K-Touch and Konka (200016.SZ, 000016.SZ). UniStore offers both free and premium downloadable applications.
Editor's Note: The new release also offers four new advertising platforms: a CPA-based advertising union, a platform for embedded ads, a commission-based "self-help" advertising platform, and a "buzz" advertising platform. The new UniStore offers system tools, communications tools, dictionaries, audiovisual media, games and everyday applications for Symbian, Android, Java, Windows Mobile, Linux and Widget-based handsets.
