According to Taiwanese media reports, after one month in office, COO Simon Yang of Chinese semiconductor foundry Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) (NYSE: SMI, 0981.HK) has issued an internal email stating that SMIC will lay off approximately 10% of the workforce in April.
