Rumor: Exodus at The9's New U.S. Acquisition

U.S.-based game developer Red 5 Studios, recently acquired by Chinese game developer and operator The9 (Nasdaq: NCTY), has begun restructuring, laying off a number of employees. One industry source reported that 28 employees have left the firm, half of whom left voluntarily while the other half were terminated. Among those leaving were project leaders, human resources staff and artists, leaving behind only former Blizzard employees and CEO Mark Kern.
