GAPP: All Games Must Receive Pre-Approval By June

Sina Games, 1/25/10

Vice-director Sun Shoushan recently reaffirmed that China's General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) is the sole agency assigned by the State Council to oversee online game pre-approval and imported online game approval. Speaking at the 2009 China Game Industry Annual Conference (CGIAC) in Dalian, Sun added that any company that has not yet completed pre-approval for its online games and received an Internet Publishing License by June 2010 may not operate online gaming services.
