56.com Launches Ad Revenue Sharing System
CCID, 12/02/09
Chinese video sharing site 56.com has announced the release of an ad revenue sharing system. Video creators that join the system will receive a portion of video advertisement revenue.
56.com will establish a content distribution alliance, through which content creators, including copyright holders and video bloggers, will be able to profit from the ad revenue sharing system. Once the number of views on a contributor's videos reaches a certain level, the contributor will begin to receive a portion of advertisement income.
56.com has said that content contributors who can prove they are copyright holders of their uploaded content will receive a larger portion of advertising revenue. In addition, if a copyright holder discovers that their material has been uploaded without their consent, they can contact 56.com and, upon producing documentation of copyright ownership, immediately be made the beneficiary of the ad revenue share for the content in question.
