Oriental Morning Post, 11/24/09
Lou Qinjian, deputy minister of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and Rock Hsu, chairman of Taiwan's Kinpo Group, have announced the construction of a commercial TD-SCDMA network in Taipei's Neihu district. The network will be operated by Kinpo Group subsidiary, Vibo Telecom.
Vibo Telecom is already constructing the infrastructure for an experimental TD-SCDMA network, and primarily seeks additional equipment such as base stations in order to build out.
Editor's Note: According to the Taiwan Economic News, the network is intended to help two Kinpo Group subsidiaries, Compal Communications and Cal-Comp Electronics, enter China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) TD-SCDMA supply chain.
