China Telecom App Store to Charge Download Fees

Before the end of the year, China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) will end the public beta of its E-Surfing Spaces Application Market for its official launch. According to Market representatives, internal testing will begin on paid downloads of a portion of the applications offered in the store.
The representatives also said that during the internal testing, applications that were offered free for download and use will not be affected. Next year, the Market will begin offering various forms of payment to fit the needs of users from other networks.
