Google China Music Search Ad Revenues Reach RMB 2.5 Mln

Gary Chen, CEO of Orca Digital, operator of Google China music search partner Top100.cn, has told foreign media that Google China's music search serves 5 mln songs a day. Chen added that five advertisers, including Nokia, Apple and Volkswagen, have signed agreements worth a total of RMB 2.5 mln (USD 370,000).
Google China and Top100.cn expect to bring the total number of advertisers to 30 in the next six months, with each agreement averaging USD 1 mln in value.
Google China's online music search offers 700,000 songs from four of the world's largest music labels: Warner Music, Vivendi SA's Universal Music, EMI Group and Sony Music Entertainment. Chen expects the catalogue to grow to 1.1 mln tracks by the end of this year. Top100.cn will split advertising revenue approximately 50-50 with the record labels.
Google China's music search (http://www.google.cn/music) is currently only available to users in China.
