Changyou Licenses Taiwanese MMO for RMB 100 Mln

Taiwanese and Hong Kong media report that Chinese online game developer and operator Changyou (Nasdaq: CYOU), a subsidiary of Chinese internet portal Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU), has licensed mainland China operating rights to the 3D martial arts-themed MMORPG "Zhong Hua Ying Xiong" from Taiwanese game developer and operator Chinese Gamer International for more than RMB 100 mln.

Chinese Gamer International GM Leu Shyue-sen said that since Zhong Hua Ying Xiong first went online in August, it has achieved PCUs of 180,000 players. Leu added that Changyou and Chinese Gamer International had not ruled out the possibility of future cooperation on R&D for new games.

Changyou COO Chen Dewen said that at present Changyou's self-developed 2.5D martial arts-style MMORPG Tian Long Ba Bu (Dragon Oath) earned operating revenues of RMB 150 mln per month, and that the company hopes Zhong Hua Ying Xiong will break its record.
