Changyou to Release Four New Games Next Year

He Jie, CFO of Chinese online game developer and operator Changyou (Nasdaq: CYOU), has reported that PCU for the company's self-developed 2.5D martial arts-style MMORPG, Tian Long Ba Bu, reached 850,000 as of the end of August. The new PCU, up from 790,000 in Q2 2008, comes after the release of an expansion pack in May. He added that Changyou plans to release four new games next year, namely its self-developed 2.5D martial arts-themed MMORPG, The Duke of Mount Deer, and three other licensed games. The Duke of Mount Deer is scheduled to go online in Q3 2010.
Among active users, the proportion of paid users remained steady - in the 11-14% range - compared with last quarter. The number of gamers in third-tier and fourth-tier cities continued to grow, rising between 1-2 percentage points.
