Netease Tech, 8/21/09

Asus announced in Shanghai today that it will enter the mainland desktop PC market. Asus Global GM for desktop products, Xie Kunyu, said that the computer maker's desktop offerings currently account for roughly 5% of its products. Forthcoming products will include the small form-factor 'Mini' series, as well as high-performance computers targeted at gamers and a number of "daily use" products stressing price/performance ratio.

Zhang Zheng, GM for desktop products at Asus China, said the new products are aimed at the mid- to high-end market, adding that Asus will also offer customization services.
