CSMBC Forms Seven Teams for Nationwide CMMB Operations

An industry insider has revealed that the China Satellite Mobile Broadcasting Corporation (CSMBC) has formed seven regional project teams to take responsibility for general coordination and promotion of CMMB operations throughout provinces nationwide.
Each team is comprised of a general department manager, a regional manager, and management personnel from local departments including marketing, handsets, engineering, technology, location, and content. The teams were primarily formed in order to speed the advance of CMMB operations, network coverage, business and campaign systems throughout target markets, and meet the company's quota for user base expansion. An inside source close to CSMBC said that it plans to form an independent CMMB content production company within the year for the addition of unique channels, to enrich available CMMB content. The production company is to be jointly formed with a third-party company, which must satisfy the condition of owning a production license issued by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT).
