Rumor: Sina Invests in Two Gaming Firms

An industry insider has revealed that Chinese Internet firm Sina (Nasdaq: SINA) is once again setting foot in the online gaming industry, this time by investing in domestic R&D companies.
The industry is buzzing that Sina has invested in gaming firms Beijing Joytime Science & Technology and Unisinfo Co., Ltd. The two companies' have developed the MMORPGs Zongheng Shikong and Dispute (Fen Zheng), respectively.
Unisinfo was set up with Sina investment, and has heavily advertised Dispute on Sina.com, but the two companies outwardly claim they are only partners.
Joytime has received investment from various sources in the past, but, rumors say, ultimately was purchased by Sina for an undisclosed sum. Rumored amounts range from tens to hundreds of millions of USD.
So far none of the above-mentioned news has been confirmed.
