Shenzhen Evening News, 6/25/09

China's Ministry of Health has issued regulations for the management of online medical and health information, banning online diagnosis and treatment starting next month. The regulation also stipulates that medical and health-related websites bear full responsibility for the information they distribute, including links, and cannot display unapproved advertisements. Non-commercial websites that violate the regulations could be fined anywhere from RMB 3,000 to RMB 10,000, while fines for commercial sites begin at RMB 10,000 and can go as high as RMB 30,000.
