Hisense Launches Mobile DTV Terminals

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Hisense (600060.SH) has announced the official launch of two mobile digital TVs based on the DMB-TH and AVS national mobile DTV standards. The mobile televisions were produced using self-developed IP. Hisense has already signed an initial order of 30,000 units with Qingdao Guangdian Mobile Digital TV, which will provide a free trial of the devices to 10,000 commercial and privately owned vehicles.

Hisense also introduced three new product series covering portable digital televisions, mobile digital TV set-top boxes, and digital receivers that support the two standards.

Editor's Note: For the free trial, qualifying car owners will receive a multimedia television set, a conditional access card and free installation. Other users will pay RMB 1,800 for the device and RMB 240/year for access to the service. Users will be able to receive 9 digital television and radio programs with the devices.
