Media reports indicate that Chinese online game developer and operator The9 (Nasdaq: NCTY) may receive the mainland China operating rights to the racing game Need for Speed: World Online, produced by Electronic Arts (EA). EA currently holds a 17% stake in The9. Previously, it was reported that EA was searching for a Chinese partner for the game.
