Liu Jun, senior vice president of Lenovo (0992.HK), has stated that the company plans to place future focus on all-in-one integrated computers, with expectations that by the end of 2009, 40% of newly purchased desktop computers will be integrated units.
Lenovo plans to launch 3 integrated computer models in 2009, the C300, B500, and A300. The 20-inch C300 is mainly aimed at entry-level users, and will be released in May, while the B500 utilizes a quad-core processor and will be released in August. The ultra-slim A300 will be released in October.
Editor's Note: Liu also revealed that the ultra-light, ultra-slim notebook computer market is expected to develop quickly beginning in the second half of 2009. Liu stated that the company expects prices of parts such as CPUs and LCD screens to drop, bringing ultra-portable notebook computers into the RMB 6,999 price range. Liu added that netbook computers currently hold a 15% share of the entire domestic notebook market, and are expected to level-off at 20%, which the company believes is the market saturation point.
