Taobao Publishes Cleanup Report

Chinese B2C and C2C e-commerce site Taobao has released the second edition of its weekly online product quality report, announcing it has dealt with 6 types of unacceptable products. Taobao's weekly online product quality report is published in cooperation with governmental departments responsible for industry and commerce, product quality control, and food and drugs, and is designed to inform consumers and manufacturers of sub-standard and illegal products that they might encounter on Taobao.

This issue of the report dealt with a total of 538 products across 6 categories, including a type of hair dye containing the carcinogen M-Phenylenediamine, illegal Apple iTunes recharge cards, products related to the 2010 World Expo, 41 infringing drugs manufactured by the European pharmaceutical industry, personal pharmaceuticals, and a software product to crack conversation logs from online chat messages.
