B2C Complaints Outstrip C2C Complaints Fivefold

The Consumer Electronics After-sales Service Commission and the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce have released a 2008 report on after-sales service in the Chinese consumer electronics industry. According to the report, B2C complaint volume is now second only to complaints from television shopping, with the report showing that the e-commerce B2C complaint rate is five times higher than that of C2C complaints.
Chinese B2C and C2C e-commerce site Taobao is reported as having the highest number of recorded complaints, at 1,700, followed by 5173.com with 624 complaints, Qianlong.com with 251, Chinese online retailer Dangdang with 149, and Beijing-based IT product B2C e-commerce platform 360Buy with 140.
According to the report, Dangdang is fourth overall for complaints per RMB traded, with 1 complaint for every RMB 10.74 mln. Taobao is fifth, with 1 complaint for every RMB 58.0 mln traded on the site.
