Giant MMO Records New PCU in Vietnam

Ji Xuefeng, general manager of Chinese online game developer Giant Interactive's (NYSE: GA) MMORPG ZT Online, has announced that peak concurrent users (PCU) for ZT Online in Vietnam has reached 133,000. ZT Online is operated in Vietnam by Vinagame, which began open beta testing of the game in late September 2008. On the first day of testing the game recorded a PCU of 50,000.
Liu Wei, president of Giant Interactive, revealed that ZT Online's success in Vietnam had strengthened the company's confidence in overseas markets, and the company planned to launch more products in overseas markets in the future. It is believed that Chinese game developers Kingsoft (3888.HK), Shanda (Nasdaq: SNDA) and Perfect World (Nasdaq: PWRD) have a combined 80% share of the Vietnamese online gaming market.
