AirMedia Q4 2008 Net Profit Up 33%

Chinese digital media network operator AirMedia Group (Nasdaq: AMCN) has issued its earnings report for Q4 2008, with total revenues reaching USD 40.5 mln, up 148.4% year-on-year. 2008 full-year total revenues rose to USD 125.5 mln, an increase of 187.9% over the 2007 figure.
Net income for the quarter came to USD 8.1 mln up 32.6% YoY. Net income for fiscal year 2008 was USD 30.2 mln, compared to a net loss of USD 5.1 mln in 2007.
Quarterly revenues from digital frames in airports grew by 1,264.3% year-over-year to USD 17.2 mln. Revenues from digital TV screens in airports grew by 21.0% year-over-year and decreased by 12.9% quarter-over-quarter to USD 11.4 mln. Revenues from digital TV screens on airplanes for the fourth quarter of 2008 remained approximately unchanged year-over-year and decreased by 37.4% quarter-over-quarter to USD 4.1 mln.
The company estimates Q1 2009 revenues will range from USD 32.0 mln to USD 34.0 mln, representing a year-over-year increase of 48.2% to 57.4% from the same period in 2008.
