Baidu to Invest 30 mln in Japan in 2009

Chinese online search company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) has revealed at its Q4 2008 earnings conference that it plans to invest between USD 25 mln and USD 30 mln in the Japanese market, primarily in research and development. Baidu stated it has taken into consideration the highly competitive Japanese market as well as low interest rate forecasts, and will approach market development cautiously.
