Kingsoft to Invest 1 Bln in Zhuhai Headquarters

According to Hong Kong media reports, Chinese application and online entertainment software developer Kingsoft (3888.HK) plans to invest RMB 1 bln in Zhuhai, Guangdong province to construct a 96,000 sqm company headquarters and central R&D base. The headquarters will take 3 to 5 years to complete, and when finished, will be used primarily for software research and development, as well as to expand company business domains including overseas business centers, training centers, and customer service centers.
Upon completion of the project, Kingsoft expects sales revenue to rise from a current value of approximately RMB 700 mln to RMB 7 bln in ten years' time, with overseas business rising from 20% to over 50% of the company's total revenue.
Lei Jun, vice chairman of Kingsoft, stated that the company's total production value for the next 3 years is expected to rise above RMB 1 bln, with company staff numbers rising to 5,000.
