Lou Qinjian, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), has stated that the number of Chinese Internet users had reached 290 mln by the end of November, up 37 mln from 253 mln at the end of June.
Over 80% of Internet users in China connect through broadband connections, of which roughly half are ADSL connections.
