CMMB Operator to Establish Shandong Branch

The Shandong bureau of the State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT) has agreed upon a plan to establish a Shandong subsidiary of the China Satellite Mobile Broadcasting Corporation (CSMBC). The provincial broadcasting company and broadcasting systems in the province's 17 cities will jointly form the subsidiary, for a total of between RMB 8.5 mln and 9.35 mln in stock shared among the cities, or an average of RMB 5 mln to 5.5 mln per city. Establishment of city-level subsidiaries will be handled in partnership with local broadcasting authorities; the provincial-level subsidiary will entrust the city-level subsidiary with operating and maintenance duties, and sign a service contract with the local subsidiary.
