Baidu Kicks Out 1,000 Advertising Customers

Beijing Morning Post, 11/21/08

Ye Peng, COO of search giant Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), said that the company had canceled advertising for approximately 1,000 customers after they were reviewed and found to be suspicious. The move follows last weekend's report aired by national broadcaster CCTV that criticized Baidu for hosting misleading or fraudulent advertising. Ye said that Baidu does not expect adjustments to its medical advertising client base to have any major effect on its 2009 revenues.
