Chinagames to Launch Games for China Telecom

Yu Di, marketing manager for China Telecom's (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) subsidiary Chinagames, revealed recently that during trials in Guangdong province the company had successfully integrated into its platform all online games previously provided by China Telecom subsidiary China Vnet. Speaking at a forum on the entertainment industry currently being held in Guangzhou, Yu stated that once trials in Guangdong are successfully completed, Chinagames will launch the newly integrated games nationwide. Chinagames plans to bundle its future online game services with other services provided by China Telecom.
Yu also revealed that China Games is planning to port its online games from the PC platform to a CDMA mobile phone platform. Guangdong will act as a trial location, with the company first porting its existing games and then porting new games. The games will be operated using a standard wireless value-added service provider (SP) operating model. Chinagames currently has 16 games, including browser games and RPGs.
