Microsoft Wins Piracy Case in Qingdao

Microsoft、Parametric Technology Corporation, and Autodesk recently filed a joint complaint in Qingdao Intermediary People's Court against a US-owned equipment company in Qingdao for its unauthorized use of the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office. The court ruled that the company should compensate the plaintiffs an amount totaling more than RMB 1.7 mln. The equipment company appealed the ruling to the Shandong High Court and in its final verdict, the court ruled that the company must compensate the three plaintiffs a total amount of RMB 1.1 mln.
