Qihoo Executive Confirms Oak Pacific VP In Jail

An executive at online forums and BBS search portal and anti-malware provider Qihoo confirmed rumors yesterday that vice president of Internet platform provider Oak Pacific Interactive and founder of DoNews Liu Ren had been arrested on charges of extortion.
According to the source, Liu repeatedly demanded what he termed "public relations fees" from Qihoo. Qihoo was unable to accept the demands and was eventually forced to report Liu to the police. Numerous other companies have allegedly accused Liu of similar crimes, with monetary amounts involved totaling RMB 10 mln.
