China Telecom Establishes Three New Units

China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) has established three new organizations: the China Telecom Laboratory for Broadband Applications, the China Telecom Base Network Security Protection Support and Assessment Center and China Telecom Navigator (Beijing) Information Consulting.
The Laboratory for Broadband Applications will focus on developing non-voice applications for broadband networks. The Base Network Security Protection Support and Assessment Center will focus on security support, risk assessment and emergency recovery management for China Telecom's base network. Navigator Information Consulting will provide ICT consulting services for China Telecom and its corporate clients.
These three organizations have already begun to conduct research and provide other services for the company's Beijing research institute.
