NetDragon H1 Profit Down 25%

Chinese online game developer and operator NetDragon (0777.HK) has announced its interim financial results for H1 2008, with net revenues reaching RMB 322.9 mln, up 23.4% year-on-year.
Net profit attributable to shareholders during the six-month period came to RMB 115.3 mln, down 25% YoY.
Net revenue for the quarter amounted to RMB 147.3 mln, with profit attributable to shareholders in Q2 2008 of approximately RMB 45.4 mln.
Revenue derived from its MMORPG Conquer Online for the six months ended June 2008 amounted to approximately RMB 76.0 mln, up 22.9% YoY. Its Eudemons Online MMORPG recorded revenue of RMB 196.9 mln, up 6.4% YoY. MMORPGs Zero Online and Tou Ming Zhuang Online (The Warlords) contributed approximately RMB 34.1 mln and RMB 15.0 mln, respectively. NetDragon's newly launched online game, Heroes of Might and Magic Online, which was launched in May this year, contributed revenue of approximately RMB 400,000.
During the half-year, peak concurrent users (PCU) and average concurrent users (ACU) for Conquer Online were approximately 103,000 and 67,000, representing a year-on-year increase of 15.7% and 4.7%, respectively. The PCU of Conquer Online and Eudemons Online for the three months ended 30 June 2008 increased by approximately 4.0% and 5.4%, respectively, whereas both online games also recorded a 4.7% and 19.0% increase in ACU year-on-year. Zero Online also recorded approximately 6.0% and steady growth year-on-year in PCU and ACU for the three months ended 30 June 2008.
