Guangdong Handset Exports Reach 104 mln Units

Between January and July this year, Guangdong province exported 104 mln mobile handsets, up 51.3% over the same period last year. Of these, nearly 78 mln units were produced by foreign-invested enterprises such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung. The total value of handset exports during the period was USD 6.66 bln, up 52.5% over the same period in 2007. Guangdong's mobile handset export volume has seen average annual growth of 57.4% since 2001, making it the number one province in China for mobile handset exports.
