Rumor: The9, Blizzard Renew WoW Contract

Reliable sources claim that Chinese online game operator The9 (Nasdaq: NCTY) will renew its contract as the authorized agent for World of Warcraft in 2009.
Rival game developer and operator Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) has also held talks with Blizzard over obtaining these rights, and offered the company fees several percentage points higher than those offered by The9. Shi Yuzhu, CEO and chairman of Giant Interactive, also expressed interest in licensing Starcraft II.
